Yeah we get it! It’s still a funny picture…jeez people.
He’s clearly standing behind the deputy, not next to him.
It looks to me like the barrel is pointed over the guy’s right shoulder. It does appear at first to be pointed at his head, but I think it’s a trick of depth perception.
